Red Nose Day

Last Friday the whole school supported Comic Relief to raise money for children in Africa. The children paid a forfeit at the gate for the privilege of wearing something red, although some children decided to go the whole hog and dress completely in red! There was an assembly in which we heard from three children describing what it was like to be a child in Uganda. Their stories were very sad, but thanks to money donated by Comic Relief, life has been gradually getting better.

During the afternoon, Gina (the Dancing Diva!) and her regular Friday afternoon dance troup, led the whole school (including the staff!) in a mammoth danceathon in the playground. Everyone had a fantastic time, as you can see from the photographs.

Finally, at the end of the day, groups of children sold cakes and toys to raise even more money. We managed to raise well over £200, which we shall be sending to Comic Relief. A big thank you to parents, staff and pupils for supporting the day!

Which way do we turn?

The staff joined in too!
