Dear Parents
I would like to say well done to all the children who took their tests during this week and the way in which they conducted themselves. A big thank you to Mr Cook who prepared a daily breakfast for children in Year 6. I know the children appreciated the opportunity to meet with each other prior to each test. This morning’s offering was particularly mouth-watering!

Noticeboard
Swimming starts on Tuesday. There are still some slots that need parental support, so please do not hesitate to contact the office if you have some spare time. The timetable has been posted on the website.
Thank you to all the parents who supported Miss Newton’s cake sale on Wednesday. You raised a staggering £161.43 for her class budget, which is a fantastic boost in these credit crunch times!

School meals. Please could you return the order form by Monday, so that the numbers can be processed by the kitchen staff.

Mrs Davies’ cake sale will take place next Wednesday afternoon.

Mr Cook will be taking a group of 10 children in Years 5 & 6 to the Tag Rugby Festival at Rye Rugby Football Club next Thursday. A separate letter will be sent home to those children taking part.

Although the school is closed for staff training next Friday, violin lessons will go ahead as normal. It was lovely to see the violinists playing in front of an audience this morning. Well done to them all!

School houses
As part of a new initiative we have placed all the children into four houses. Each member of staff will be affiliated to a house and the children will elect a Year 6 house captain for the remainder of the academic year. House points will be awarded during the course of each week and the winning team will be announced in Friday’s celebration assembly. The names of the teams will be announced next week and starts after half term.

Wall of Fame
The Wall of Fame has been revamped too. So if your child has achieved something special outside of school, please let me know and he/she will feature on the Wall of fame board.

And finally…
May I wish you all a pleasant and relaxing weekend!
