Dear Parents
During the course of the week the children have been very productive and actively engaged in a wide range of activities and skills, involving all subjects of the curriculum. Mr Cook’s class have been contemplating “what are we doing to our planet?”, whilst children in Mrs Davies’ and Miss Palmer’s classes have been studying Darwin and the origin of species. Meanwhile children in Miss Newton’s class have been looking at the seaside. All four classes have planned visits to the local environment to enrich the work back in the classroom. The themes will continue next week.
Noticeboard
The sports festival that Miss Palmer’s Year 2 children are attending next is at Rye Sports centre.
If you have any Tesco or Sainsbury vouchers please send them in to school. The scheme is due to finish next week and the vouchers will be collected towards the end of June. Thank you for your continued support!
Class photographs can still be ordered. Please send any new orders to Mrs Bristow by Monday. Copies of the photographs are on the noticeboard inside the main entrance.
Four children in Year 6 took part in the qualifying round of a Maths quiz organised by the local authority this morning. We are one of 51 primary schools taking part and, if we do well enough, we shall qualify for the finals in July. I shall keep you informed!
We have stacks of unclaimed jumpers, shoes and coats waiting to be find their original owners. Please have a browse through the boxes outside the main entrance before they are disposed of.
A group of children in Mrs Davies’ class will be working alongside an architect and a local contractor to build a large scale Tudor house in Alexandra Park in Hastings this Saturday. We are one of only two local primary schools entering this competition, so if you are in Hastings on Saturday, please pop in and see them working!
And finally...
May I wish you all a pleasant and relaxing weekend!
