Dear Parents
It was another busy week in the school calendar. Miss Newton’s class had a fantastic visit to Rye harbour. Thank you to all of you who transported the children to and from the harbour and to those parents who stayed to help during the day.

Highlights of the week

Congratulations to children in Year 6, who took part in the annual athletics festival at Rye College. It was a great team effort, winning a range of medals. Check out the website over the weekend
for newly-added photographs.

Children in Key Stage 2 took part in valuable anti-bullying workshops on Tuesday and Wednesday as part of the PSHE curriculum.

Jean Burke from the Library Service told the children about a summer reading challenge during the holidays. If your child is interested in taking part you can register at any public library.

Looking ahead

Business enterprise. On Tuesday after school we shall be selling the first crop of our own organic herbs and vegetables grown in our playground planter. Please come along!

There is a keyboard recital next Wednesday at 2.50pm.

Cycling proficiency workshops for children in Mr Cook’s class run throughout next week. Mike Cooper, the trainer, will be using part of the lane to teach the children to cycle safely. Helpers still needed!

I am pleased to be able to tell you that Captain Paul Tyler from the Church Army has stepped in to take a weekly assembly in school, covering the unfortunate absence of Tony Sargent. His first assembly is next Thursday.

And finally…
May I wish you all a pleasant and relaxing weekend!
