Dear Parents
It has been a very hectic week in school as Christmas festivities got under way. It was lovely to see children in Year 6 singing in the carol concert at St Thomas’ Church, Winchelsea on Wednesday evening. Yesterday the children enjoyed a songful Christmas lunch, followed by a raucous party. There were some smashing hats too. The winners were Jack Bantock, Bailey Reed-Simmonds, Mimi Francis and Maddie Nunn. The week was topped off by a visit to the Panto in Hastings. Phew!
All the fun of the Christmas Fair!
Don’t forget that our Christmas Fair takes place in school this Saturday. Doors open at 11.30am. Everyone welcome! The shopping evening at the George Hotel raised over £200. Thank you to all who supported it and to Katie and Alex Clarke for hosting it again!
Looking ahead
We shall be rehearsing our own Nativity in Iden Church on Monday and Tuesday afternoons. The children will return to
school before the end of the day. Tickets are available from Mrs Bristow for the two performances on Wednesday and Thursday afternoon at 2pm. Please could you arrange to have your child collected from Iden Church on both afternoons at approximately 2.50pm.
The PSA have kindly organised Christmas parties for the children at the Playden WI hall next Thursday. The party for children in Reception and Years 1 and 2 starts at 4pm and finishes at 6pm. The Junior party starts at 6.30pm and finishes at 8pm.
Early warning
Our next two INSET days have been set for Monday 4th
January and Monday February 22nd 2010. On both days the school will be closed for staff training.
And finally...
Hope to see you tomorrow. If not, have a pleasant and relaxing weekend!
