Newsletter 15

Dear Parents,
Welcome back! I do hope you had an enjoyable Christmas. We are raring to go for another action-packed New Year.

Accompanying this week’s newsletter is a copy of the recent Ofsted report. I have also posted it on our website and, from next week, it will be available on Ofsted’s own website. Staff and governors are very pleased with the
report. The children have also received a letter from the lead inspector. Since we are a Church of England school we shall be having our church inspection next Friday, undertaken by the Diocese of Chichester.

Staffing news
We welcome back Mrs Davies, who will be teaching Meerkats with Miss Palmer. Mr Carlton-Blake, a second-year student studying at Durham University, will be undertaking a five-week teaching practice in this class. He will be closely
supported by both Mrs Davies and Miss Palmer.

Mrs Davies and Miss Palmer have asked me to put out a plea for parent and/or grandparent volunteers to help listen to children read in their class. If you do have any spare time this would be much appreciated.

Learning Platform
The school is in the process of switching to a brand new learning platform, designed specifically for primary schools. It is a much more user-friendly and intuitive system and, once it is up and running, we shall be inviting parents to a meeting to explain how you can be an integral part of home-school learning.

And finally…
May I wish you all a pleasant and relaxing weekend!
