The house is in silence and the children have all entered the land of nod! Having arrived at Rippledown house, we spent some time unpacking, acquainting ourselves with new surroundings and settling in. An exploration of a badgers sett, game of football and relaxation followed!
Rationing of the tuck shop commenced, soon to be followed by dinner- enjoyed and heartily eaten by all.

This evening we have been for a walk through the village and to the top of a hill looking out over the Kent coastline. Led by Dave, head of Rippledown, the children looked at the stars, saw Nelson's seat and considered the effect of light pollution.

All the children enjoyed the walk and were suitably tired and relaxed. TC

Update 1, 13.00:
A snowy start to the trip- really!! Having stopped, at the Capel le fern memorial, to reflect at the sacrifice made by airmen in world war 2. We have arrived at Rippledown House and have started unpacking. Good times begin! TC
